War of the Narrators

Post by thorondraco » Wed Apr 08, 2020 2:20 am

Okay at this point we can presume that we are dealing with a world war type scenario with multiple sides fighting over the Narrative of Paradox space like a bunch of dogs on a bone that is honestly big enough for all of them. A mexican style standoff between metanarrative cosmic bullshit slingers. Though we don't entirely know the structure of these factions at this time.

We have Dirk of course. Cunning, and far sa we know having layers upon layers of plans for this whole thing. He is obsessed with being the lord english of homestuck now and wants to accomplish a still as yet unknown feat. He is creating his own session and manipulating rose all the way. He is challenged by Alt calliope who, while definitely with more power to expend, is not nearly as cunning as him.
Dirk has terezi, rose, and himself on his team, but considering the session, we could theoretically include everyone who will be born and created to play the game are his minions as well.

Alt calliope is the second factions here. She is the black hole and seemingly is performing her ocmmand over paradox space through the stolen green sun. The candy timeline is what has allowed her to remain cognizant in all of this. Initially her term is made of two versions of herself, both using different incarnations of jade as an avatar, Dave with ultimate self mojo, and Aradia. Initially we could say that the entire crew of the Pipboat ship was also on her side, but Jade's outright rebellion, born from Calliope's mistreatment, has left her not only disconnected from them but possibly has turned some ofthem against her. Whether or not this group has the capacity to form a faction is unknown.

We of course have the Director, revealed in pesterquest... We do not know if the Director is simply one incarnation of a group of in universe avatars of other whatpumpkin studio people, could have a lalohunt, kate, etc versions, or if Aysha is being used as the face of this faction. Their goal is unknown but they are antagonistic towards Dirk. We do not know the relationship between the Director faction and Calliope or even if she is aware of them. The Director seems somewhat more empathetic to the fate and suffering of those she can manipulate but does so anyway, but miiight be an ally either way as pesterquest was a 'can they be happy' experiment as it were. It is at this time presumed the director is also behind Hiveswap... which would make sense cause meta, aysha is in charge of it. we have no idea what is the purpose of it.

The motherfuckin READER BITCH! The madlad stick figure whose past is still largely unknown but had gotten ahold of retcon powers, is super empathetic to the character of homestuck, and who has immense power now. WE do not know his overall status nor origin, or even if he IS a he or a she or a they. Hopefully implying sequels as they seem to have their own name even. We know they seemingly merged with the Green Sun at the end of pesterquest, so their overall status after it was consumed is unknown, and created a Locked timeline. We could presume however the reader is not content with just giving these kids a happy ending in the locked timeline. he has friends from friendsims, set to appear in hiveswap hopefully soonish. This might lead him to be a direct rival towards the director.

The final faction is a surprising one. The Horror terrors. From one of the pesterquest volumes the Reader has a strange encounter with one, speaking through the mouthpiece of another. More so this horror terror seemed to speak quite distinctly of this entire narrative tugawar going on and, seemingly, put an incarnation of both the reader and feferi on the route to enlightenment in order ot 'move the movers' aka the people who have narrative powers. It is presumed these two are still in the locked-timeline as well.
It should be noted that while the Director took credit for pesterquest's story, we don't know if she was the one who put the juju in the reader's path. Especially as we learned a major detail through pesterquest.

Alll of these mofos are blind to the void. Aradia knows this herself. All of them. Of course that is a major issue here, the void is imprisoned into the black hole at this time thus meaning currently there is nowhere to hide form the gaze of a narrator in paradox space....
This might be in part why the horror terrors seem to be passive or meaningless in the story. Because they can do things that non of us can know unless they LET us know about it. And seemingly the horror terrors have the awareness of Narrative power as well, which throws a whole new twist to it all. The motives of the horror terrors is majorly unknown but is in objection to the game itself and the frogs.
