you guys are making such a deal out of nothing it's actually amazing to see it. specially when this has been up for more than a month already and people only noticed cause i joked about it. it seriously, really, doesn't matter.

It was basically only me making a big deal about it, it made me personally uncomfortable and I overreacted. It's not the forum's job to cater to me specifically.

I don't see why the desu to desu word filter can't be a togglable option that one can turn on or off depending on personal taste. Perhaps there can be a whole script given to the forum goers, so we can all have our own personalized word filters. I would love to fuck around with that.

that sounds kind of stupid and completely useless desu. if you have personal filters, how does it differs from just writting whatever you want?

I think they might mean like filters on our own end that change how we see other people's posts? Although in that case there are literally browser extensions that do just that.

Honestly, I think it's fine just to leave it how it is. Since there's a little bit of every type of fan in this forum, their should be a little bit of some of the previous places fans used to go to. And let's be honest. Homestuck wouldn't really be what it is today without all of the four chan fans. Let's atleast give them some credit. Also, it really is cute to see desu written everywhere <^v^>

by the way, although hsg from 4chan was alright, the one on 8chan is cursed with too much drama, because that's just how 8chan is. that's my stance.

In all seriousness, it's not a Big Issue for me but it is pretty juvenile. Wordfilters can be a fun way to discourage slurs and the like but wordfilters on a platform with text adventures will mess with their content.

Emphasis on was. The 4chan of 2010 is not the 4chan of 2020. Even back in those days, I can't say that the influence of 4chan was a positive one, especially since Homestuck parodies those types (SA was a bigger and better influence you can't change my mind).

i thought that there literally wasn't an hsg on 4chan anymore

imagine being on a forum where there are advertisements. that'd be fucked up.

I do believe we have wrung all the discussion out of this possible. I'll think about what to do vis a vis the word filter and discuss it w/ the other mods.
