Re: Favorite Land in Homestuck
Idk if it's my favorite because I have a terrible memory of each land and I did just get to LOHAC in my reread, but I love the atmosphere in the Land of Heat and Clockwork. It's feels like a natural extension of Dave's home, just as red and hot and miserable. All of the lands have enemies and obstac...

Re: I'm afraid for HS^2
Might be just misunderstanding stuff but, I really don't get this thread. We have a total of 32 pages so far. All this criticism seems to be aimed at a hypothetical place the story might be going, but it hasn't yet. We have no idea what it's gonna be like. The only precedent we have for what the ne...

Re: THE DIRKCOURSE THREAD
Manipulating and abusing Jake? Yeah, sure, that lines up. I don't even know that that's true. Yes, Dirk's relationship with Jake was unhealthy, but it was unhealthy because Dirk wasn't able to get out of his own head enough to be emotionally available, not because he wanted to beat Jake up and infa...

Re: I'm afraid for HS^2
I honestly don't think it's fair to ask people to dismiss or ignore new content as it comes out, especially if they've been around for a long time and are emotionally or socially invested in HS. I get that it's frustrating to see so much negativity and anger around, and I get wanting to have positiv...

Re: If Hauntswitch was a visual novel?
I love visual novels and would totally be open to reading Hauntswitch as one instead of a point-and-click game, but yeah, it sounds like something that would disappoint a lot of people and I can't say I'd blame them for it. If it was between not releasing it and getting a VN though, VN all the way.

Re: THE DIRKCOURSE THREAD
^ agreeing with all that, and would like to add: one of my favorite things about Dirk and Bro in the comic was their ambiguity. They were both heroes. Dirk spearheads most of the action in his session, Bro helps Dave in his session and dies fighting Jack. And, separate from those roles, they both do...

Re: Forgotten/Underappreciated Characters
I think I'm gonna go with Tavros here. He's not really forgotten, per se, but he pretty much only matters (both in the comic and in conversations about the comic) in relation to Vriska, and I'm a bit worried about how the story's going to treat him as HS^2 (& PQ) continue. Is their dynamic going to ...

Re: Mspa reader Theory thread
I think there is implication he becomes a 'real' character somehow. The YCH comparison, character creation minigame and such. Heck unlike when he started, he couldn't be puppeted by a Cerulean. anymore. Piece by piece he is becoming more and more than a stand in and into something else, Evolving. Q...

Re: I'm afraid for HS^2
I haven't heard anything like that about Meenah, but people have definitely complained about Damara, which I think is more than fair. But yeah, moving away from Twitter, or at least expanding to other platforms to interact with people, is super important. Some of the creators are on a couple Discord...

Re: Mspa reader Theory thread
I share Flame_Warp's perspective here: MSPAReader is an audience stand-in who's developed their own feelings and traits over time, by actually interacting with the story vs just reading it. I don't really think it'd make sense if they were anyone else, and I also think if they were a "real" characte...

Re: What is canon?
as far as im concerned the homestuck 'canon' is the whole body of work that allows us to understand homestuck. paradox space, the frienddating datefriendgames, the epilogues + 2 are all canon because they present facts and ideas about homestuck to us in a way that can make us change the way we perc...

Re: Favorite Friendsim Routes? [Spoilers... duh]
Idk, probably Lanque's. His sprites were some of the best polished in the game, and I think V's kinda hostile writing style was well suited to a closing route. Friendsim doesn't end happily and the tone helps build up to that. Plus I thought the content warning prompt was a clever way to get us to m...

Re: PODCAST Recommendations!
I'd recommend Dylan Marron's Conversations With People Who Hate Me to anyone who's gotten into an argument online, especially anyone with an interest in activism. He starts off talking with people who've left him hate comments, and later on in the podcast starts meditating conversations between othe...

Re: Dancestors and Dancestor Things
I dislike how most of the dancestors were in the comic, feel like most of the jokier of them weren't in good taste. Totally up to see them worked on more in new stuff though. Some of their fan art is really nice too

Re: What was your primary fandom pre-homestuck?
Warrior Cats, then MLP:FiM. I dabbled in a few communities for other series, but MLP and Homestuck have been the only times I've wanted to keep up with the conversations and art and ideas surrounding it. Warriors I was mostly into because it was an easier way for me to make friends at the time.
