New chapter out and one that finally has Jade doing something (Kinda.) Love the return of the death clock, some more alt callie characterisation and a brief look at how arbitrary 'just' and 'heroic' really are as metrics.

I thought it was fairly interesting. Nothing more, nothing less. Didn't blow me away or anything. There were words on the screen, and my brain perceived that as stimuli, thus generating some level of serotonin, I would presume.

I liked it. But Calliope's narration definitely makes me see why people don't like Dirk. I liked how there actually was a flash, even if it was a second long. At least we're testing the waters there. Nothing really blew me away, but I will admit the end of the chapter was executed pretty damn well. Not excellent, but fairly interesting if nothing else.

That was pretty good. Also jade gets completely tired of her passive role after all this time!
Coincidentally in pesterquest she kinda does that too. Hmmmm. Maybe one harley in the expanse of her Self realizing she can be more than she has been dictated as, it somehow echoed.. Hmm

also testing the waters with an apparent flash. also jade has come up with a pretty interesting viewpoint. Perhaps both Calliope and Dirk as just as guilty of trying to mold reality. Amnd the power of the Clock seems to govern even someone like alt calliope.
And that Calliope's comprehension of paradox space is limited... Is it more limited than Dirk's though?

Actually i think there is more going on here than it appears.

She pushed out alt calliope, but that means Dirk's influence can reach them now. And he is liable to affect Jade in a way to ensure she does not let her in again so easily.
Which means he has dead jade calliope to deal with still but she probably has to reach the Earth c frog first.

It also puts a question in our heads as well. Perhaps Calliope is just as bad if not worse than Dirk here. Even beyond her destroying paradox space as we know it, she does not trust the person she need to 'pilot' enough to just leave her some breathing room. In fact this is what has lead to Dirk's advantage here.

also that perhaps even Alt Calliope is not beyond the Clock's judgement.

so yea now Dirk can fuck with them a bit if he wanted.

Not the greatest because it reminded me of the epilogues and how the butchered Jade.

Still, looking forqard to what comes of this specifically. Hopefully, not much becausw as much as I wanna see Jade do something, I also want Jade to help Callie fuck over Dirk.

She has been punch, manipulated, scorned and spurned long enough! She wants that six years of her life back dammit! (Yes six now! 3 on gold ship and now another 3 just floating and not interacting with her friends when she could have been this whole time fuck u alt!calliope.)

A little note here about Alt!Calliope's hypocrisy here, I find it interesting that when she mentions Jades...activities that she seemed very...what's the word here? Dismissive? Like sure, "not everyone can have a happy ever after (bullshit) and that people get the short end of the narrative stick (also bullshit) but could you be less of a slut about it jade god"

Like, Calliope, she's sleeping around BECAUSE of the narrative force. She would love, LOVE to be in a relationship with one of the main cast but the narrative has not let her HAVE anyone! why must everything she touch die *sob*

Also also: remember how Calliope wanted her to stay asleep at the end of Act 6? Yup. Totally necessary. NOT! Gets stabbed by davepeta.

Bonus for jade, she made Calliope very uncomfortable.

I also realized something. Dirk in candy was able to force his death to become 'just' despite it being a suicide. Here Alt calliope seems uncertain of the mechanics of the judging clock, and fears that it could apply to her as well. While dirk seems oddly confident that he will be the one to judge his own death in the epilogues.

I think while dirk is nowhere near her power level, he is operating with a more expanded knowledge base than her own. Knowledge is definitley the greater power in paradox space.

also i think that thing calliope said about jade not being the one who decides if it was heroic or just is stupid cause hey, remember Dirk's suicide? that shit was self-imposed and only because HE thought HE was worthy of a just death

It's about freaking time. Jade I'm convinced has a special kind of meta power nobody appreciates, her condition to be suppressed and herself diminished causes rebellion when meta gets stirred into the pot and creates the best content no matter where it happens.

Pesterquest? Best route.

HS2? Best update.

Never been a huge fan of Jade, but it's nice to see her actually take her character back and stop being a vessel for exposition. The process of taking her body back is also pretty funny.

I will say in spite of my problems with HS2, the art's been consistently good.

Alt Calliope has a vore fetish and loves the idea of physically eating evil people whom she hates. She literally ate caliborn, then at lord english (a mistake i think as it means that dead jade assimilated the parts of lord english that Dirk is connected to).

I think she has a hate boner for dirk. which is why she is drinking orange juice all the time. Cause its like drinking his essence XD

[A user on Twitter] also pointed out that Trickster Dirk has orange juice (or soda? but whatever) in his hair.
If you think about it, pulp is also the "meat" of the orange,
