@ Every error 10060 post
The server clearly had issues recently but they appear to be fixed up now. Sadly, posting in here about them won't do anyone any good due to the fact that I don't run the pchum irc server. :discontent:

Ok, so we know that 10060 is server issues. What about 10061? Because I'm getting that right now and so are like 23 other people that I know from across the world.

It was fun while it lasted, at least.
I'm hoping somebody can make a more stable and less FOMO-inducing successor one day.
For now though, I suppose discord is always there, with many more quality-of-life features, but I will miss the sheer explorability factor, the colored text, the regex-powered auto-quirking, the tri-format saved logs, the random encounters (though I will not miss the horny random encounters at all), and the joy of being able to hop in and find other homestuck fans to talk with about near anything.

I'm in talks with ghostDunk to see if something can be done. It doesn't seem hard for me to host a server on irc.homestuck.net, and it seems only slightly hard to release a new version that points to that server and other backup ones (AND make the random encounter feature clientside, which according to ghostDunk might be trivial, even).

We'll know how likely this is as I keep playing with the building process. If you don't hear back from me just contact me for the irc.homestuck.net domain redirect to whatever new servers emerge, that's a pretty obvious thing for me to contribute.

EDIT: Contact me if you've ever managed to build Pesterchum on Linux, seems like the process is entirely tailored for mac.

Surprise! The main pesterchum server is closing!
Will I host an alternate server myself? I haven't decided yet.

There are a few people already working on alternate server implementations. Stay tuned for more information!

This is your friend if you want a menu link, otherwise you just run pesterchum.py directly

I mean building for Windows and Mac *from* Linux, I know I can just run the py at any point. Getting an exe or app out of it is fucking everyone up, however.

I've always built the program using py2exe due to personal preference however, cx_Freeze should still work.

I'm not sure if I should post this here but I've been having an issue with pesterchum not opening. It was working fine yesterday, but now it just won't open. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, I've tried pinning it and opening it through the task bar, but it's refusing. I'm not getting an error message, either.

Until someone else picks up the Pesterchum project/establishes new servers/backs up the existing program leftovers, there most likely will not be any easy fixes/updates to fix existing problems.

Follow anyone that seems willing to pick up the project on social media and if there are developments, you can post them here.

it's less this and more the fixes involve removing parts of the program that people like having. (or at least changing up the default behaviour, which I really only did on one build (portable) and not the rest of them)

Hey, does anyone know of a version working with QT5 and Python3 on (Arch) Linux? I'd like to use pesterchum on my computer, but it won't compile QT4, and wine doesn't seem to function with it. Any response is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! :bemused:

I'm surprised that this hasn't been mentioned here yet: https://github.com/Dpeta/pesterchum-alt ... s/releases It appears to be a recently updated version of pesterchum with a couple new server options, and some much-needed quality-of-life features, including easier access to chanserv and auto-logging into specified memos.
The unofficial servers seem p empty and slow to connect to tho.

hey, apologize if this was asked and answered already, but I'm tryin' to figure something out.

I recently moved PCs, from a laptop to a permanent Desktop. Great stuff, all in all. but! i've yet to figure out a way to move my Saved Quirks with me. I tried just setting my handle to the account with the quirks, but it's locking me out. am I stuck with that handle on my laptop? if so, i can handle that, IF (if) i can export the saved quirks as something.

at the moment, i'm not feeling so epic, and once again i apologize if this has been answered, but is there a way to take the saved data from one instance of pesterchum to another? Export it as text, or something? thank you in advance.
