around the end of last year, someone on /v/(4chan's video game board) made a thread to invite people to play overseer v2, I was curious and decided to read the webcomic the game was about
I actually had read problem sleuth a long time ago but never bothered with Homestuck, it was only when I got to that thread that I actually decided to read it

I read the entire thing in a week and a half.

around 2007 or '08 or so, i was just a little kid bored on the internet. i found vgcats.com one day and decided to read it. on the front page was an advertisement for this comic called 'problem sleuth.' i was like, 'what be this?' so i clicked it, and read it.

needless to say, i was bored after the fourth chapter and never finished reading it.

THEN, in mid-2009, a Digg clone I used to visit (that went by the name of In4mador!) had a link submitted to it called 'MS Paint Adventures: [S] Jade: Play a silly flute refrain'. I clicked on it, and I was left entertained yet confused about what the heck that was. So, naturally, I went from the beginning and started reading the whole coming from there, trying my best to catch up whenever an update came out (at least up until around Act 5 or so).

My life has never been the same since.

I WILL say this, though: I have never gotten myself into Problem Sleuth and I probably never will at this point. Eat it, losers!!!!!!!!

Strange and long story with a lot of false starts.

I guess as a side note i was never a big Tumblr user and didn't find Homestuck through it at all. I barely to this day follow Tumblr culture and its memes. I was never directly a part of a group and just sort of ended up wherever outside the borders of the internet being in the know of some stuff but not so much some deeper site related things.

I was pretty active on the internet in 2012/13 and was up to date on The Memes. I knew about sweet bro and hella jeff and the stairs related shenanigans of the day and even referenced it a few times. The title "Homestuck" was thrown around a lot and so were these weird gray skinned guys called trolls. This was when rage comics were still somewhat relevant too so a part of me honestly associated them with that sort of stuff and was sort of repulsed by it. Another formative experience was watching the Know Your Meme youtube video on it. I refuse to rewatch that video to this very day.

Years went by and at some point maybe after Undertale but possibly before it i ran into [S] Wake and things changed. Not because of the troll girls, but because of that guy with the dog head. Planets were being blown up violent murders were being commit and it was in a way enthralling. I had to find out more and eventually i went to TV Tropes and descended into the nightmarish character tree to find the dog bastard. My hatred of the trolls was well embedded at this point and i backed off from going deeper than a name. Jack Noir. Some archagent or something? Found out other stuff about the comic like the families the kids belonged to and a bit more about that weird troll with the ram horns. Read a bit of stuff about Scratch too who seemed to be a recurring figure almost as if they were also trying to bait me into reading it? Slightly ironic. Backed off but sometimes i'd come back when the little birdy told me something was going on with Homestuck. An undertale reference or two maybe? Not my business but stuff started stirring around 2018 Hiveswap Friendsim videos were flooding my sub box because of a guy named RevScarecrow, some of you might know about him. Not a huge youtuber but he's become wrapped up in this homestuck nonsense for awhile too. Decided to go back to the tropes and gravitated right back to that dog dude and found a youtube link i believe.

The link was [S] Jack: Ascend.
Holy shit. The music instantly caught me. The visuals, the action, all of it was just slightly otherworldly but amazing. The song was just as strange too. But it was encapsulating. I had to find out more i HAD to see where this road ended personally. I started the comic officially and in those first three acts i honestly found myself barely pulling through. Something weighed me down and i legitimately wanted to quit, but i kept going. I wanted to see that flash with my own eyes. Around act 3 we saw Jade and a part of me sort of fell in love with her? Not in that kind of way but more like i was legitimately invested in this story and its characters. That was when i crossed the event horizon and i guess the story ends. Kinda needlessly lengthy but that's the way it is sometimes i guess.

Like i said at the start i'm not a tumblr/twitter user and never have been which leaves me in this weird niche of homestuck fans who like the story for weird as fuck reasons.

woah, i think i was there! I remember playing overseer v2 with /v/ around that time with a few other people and being really surprised the thread never got deleted considering it was Homestuck related. I think my name on overseer was Fhyatt Vriska or something stupid like that lolol

Sometimes 4chan can get the /pol/ out of it's ass long enough to be enjoyable and that's where some of the most memorable shit happens

I personally found out about the series thanks to it's soundtrack. I listened to some of Toby Fox's songs he made for it, since I was an undertale/deltarune fan back then and the soundtracks where killer to me, and as I expected the song where, still are, amazing to me. So I thought if the song's are good, then so is the comic itself! I mean it's probably not that long. I'd probably finish it in a day! Oh past me. You gullible dumbass.

I remember someone had a link to it in their profile on this (now dead) adoptable website called Squiby, and got curious. This was around, uh... 2010-2011? I've been around for a looooong time.

By my "best friend" of like....5-6 years at the time, who also was my abuser lmfao. But honestly? Them getting me into homestuck is like the only good thing they've done, next to getting me into Spore, Spyro, and Deviant art years prior .-.

Edit: I think I got in late 2012?

I was unironically into Hetastuck back when Hetalia was popular. Now I panhandle in front of the WhatPumpkin offices for SBURB lore development.

Watched the first half or so of RPG Mongers video on the Homestuck Fandom in late 2018 because Youtube recommended it to me and I hadn't ever heard about Homestuck before, then kind of forgot about it, and then I stumbled upon Mambostuck in February 2019.
I then read pretty much all of it, including the epilogues and HS^2, in like 3 weeks.

I think it was this video or an Octopimp video. I'm pretty sure I also saw some stuff on Tumblr about it, but I know it was a Youtube video that made me want to read it.

Honest to god I don't recall a single fucking thing about Hetastuck. I know it was there but I just, never saw any of the content or something.

If it's what I think it is, I honestly would still be interested to see the classpects of the countries <-<;;

My friends in my high school homeroom circa 2011 really wanted me to get into Tumblr, and both of them were into Homestuck, so I saw the stuff they reblogged. That wore me down until I read it, and I got caught up in early 2012 I believe. I've been really attached to the alphas ever since!!

Back in 2015 for 4/13 a friend had his sign on his hand for some weird Instagram Homestuck thing. Caught up over the course of a week in an insane feat of reading that was only possible when I was in middle school. I don't talk to that friend anymore, but fuck if I don't feel indebted to him.

I was going around listening to some Cave Story music when I get to "Moonsong". I went to the comments and found people talking about the song "Doctor" and how it is based off of "Moonsong". I listened to "Doctor" and instantly loved it. I went to check out homestuck since that is where it came from and found that it is 8000 pages long so I thought " each day I will read 300 pages a day, no matter how long it takes". I was never discouraged from my goal and within a month I had read the entirety of Homestuck.
