Re: Theory, the Retcon was not necessary for the timeloop to exist.
You're probably forgetting that Gameover only happens because John disappears from his couch when he gets the retcon power, conveniently leaving behind the Ring of Life for Gamzee to find and bring back to Aranea. I very much doubt the Condesce would've managed to enslave anyone with John in play, t...

Re: I'm afraid for HS^2
Sorbic, Homestuck^2 is a sequel to the epilogues that were released over half a year ago. To some of the people posting here Homestuck has been on track to ruin, if not already there, for a long time. Homestuck^2 is hardly new in following the trend of that. It in no way promises to be a return to f...

Re: Retcon opinions
They hijacked the narrative and made it... Kinda lame and boring. The simple fact is both John and Dirk are characters and by definition dependent on the will of a writer, not independent actors. Hussie gave John the reins of the narrative, but John still had his own set of reins, and whoever held t...

Re: I'm afraid for HS^2
What other social media could work for fan interaction? Since things like tumblr, twitter, and dreamwidth are out of question in terms of sharing and posting certain content. Curious Cat is just like Formsprings. Personally I'd advise them to turn new updates into "chapters" and put a comment secti...

Re: Oh Worm? (Parahumans Series)
I'm not a big fan of Ward either, but Twig Is frankly nothing like it. I recommend you give it a shot. Pact is a lot more similar to Worm than either Twig or Ward, with constant conflict and escalation. Twig is ruled by seasonal timeskips, so the plot ends up happening over the course of years, even...

Re: Retcon opinions
Sorry if I'm a bit late to the party on this, but in response to claims that the retcon was a means of showing the deterministic consequences of people placed in different situations: The comic already had plenty of avenues to explore this with, in the dancestors and both instances of the scratch. P...

Re: Oh Worm? (Parahumans Series)
If you ever decide to read Ward I recommend skipping Glow-Worm, the prologue to it. It was a set of teasers, and while fun to analyze, it spoils a lot of the surprises in the early parts of the story if you look at it too hard. The biggest difference between Worm and Homestuck is probably the fact t...

Re: Oh Worm? (Parahumans Series)
Worm is weirdly similar to Homestuck in a lot of ways, notably its length. It's very dark some points but I absolutely recommend it. It has a very satisfying ending.

Re: Eridan Pesterquest Writer
Jojostuck's Eridan is a major character and a lot of fun, but a lot of that is derived from the fact that he's interacting with Jojostuck's adaptation of Jojo's plot. I don't know how a frankly plotless game like pesterquest will give him enough to work with.

Currently Hypnospace Outlaw. A very Homestuck-feeling game for some reason.

Re: Nepeta Appreciation thread
I mean Nepeta and Equius as a team were their session's MVPs combat-wise, so I'd imagine Nepeta has some kind of experience killing other trolls, since there's a difference between fighting and hunting. I'm going to throw my hat firmly into the ring of "Nepeta killed someone, and we'll never find t...

Re: Nepeta Appreciation thread
I thought Nepeta only killed animals, and even then it was so she could have something to eat? ah yes she only kills trolls' PARENTS so that's much much better The furs in her cave are black, implying they're not lusus, but rather some other form of Alternian fauna. I know a few of those get mentio...

Re: patch notes: everything is rectangle now
I look forward to an RP forum, though I understand it gave the original moderation team trouble (They didn't want to even look at it, pretty much). I don't know how you'd go about dealing with that issue, other than letting people know to report stuff.

There's an archival project on the subreddit. You can probably find all the official art assets somewhere in there.

Re: Creating a Fanventure: A Collaborative Effort
is there some kind of timeline of the trolls session? the rest of the fanventure writing is fine, but it's feeling like a major slog trying to figure out the start of the game, mostly just due to gaps in memory and my own lack of understanding. I'm writing a 12 player session so seeing another one ...
